Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

Originally, I started getting into weightlifting a couple years after graduating high school to get more muscle and gain weight. I was always teased as a teenager for being thin. I graduated high school at 6ft 125lbs. I taught myself CrossFit and Olympic lifting  in my mother’s garage by watching endless youtube videos and recording myself until my form gradually improved. I came across the CrossFit Games on the internet in 2012 and was fascinated by their abilities and physiques. I taught myself how to olympic lift and do basic gymnastics and began accumulating more garage gym equipment. I eventually fell in love with CrossFit due to its variability and effectiveness and joined my first CrossFit gym in 2014. The CrossFit community is like no other for the support and friendships I have made.

Why did you become a trainer?

I became a trainer so that I can help people reach their fitness goals. I love seeing improvements in ability, work capacity, and mental fortitude. I strive to explain movements in a simple way that makes things “click” and to motivate people to push themselves further than what they think they are capable of. And making fitness fun, so people stick with it.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

I love most movements but my favorites are snatches, clean and jerks, handstand push-ups, and muscle-ups.. I love anything that challenges me.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Sushi!!! And Thai food 🙂

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

Batman, because he doesn’t have super powers.

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I love to move. There is no better feeling than finishing a tough workout.

Why did you become a trainer?

I’m passionate about becoming healthier and moving better, I think it’s only fair to share that passion with others!

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

This varies day to day. Sometimes gymnastics movements, sometimes olympic weightlifting. Never burpees.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Any discipline I ever had turned to rubble around candy.

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

Maybe not a typical superhero, but I gotta go with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Those guys have way too much, and their kryptonite is pizza? That hits close to home.
